![]() Start the event and stay back behind the first set of pillars - you should be beyond the range of his ice breath attack. Phase Zero: Farm Harpoons Setup Positions Getting this right will bag you, and if your DPS is good enough. Don't be afraid to use most of the hall to kite him down, but do not enter either Palehoof's room, or the exit to the rest of the dungeon as this will cause a reset. ![]() Periodically Skadi picks a random secondry target to whirlwind towards, on heroic this whirlwind is fatal to all but plate classes, so people need to keep an eye on Skadis target and be ready to run away. Once Skadi is down the fight is pretty much as with normal mode, clean up the adds quickly and nuke the boss. ![]() You will need to make five or six hits before the dragon moves off to bring it down. Once the dragon is in range spam click your gun, and if it is on cool-down, click the middle gun (strafing slightly may be required to reach the gun). The 2 harpooners should be between the left and right harpoon guns, and the middle gun, ready before you get the Blizzard raid warning, to prevent being netted by the adds away from the guns. DPS do light AoE and watch for the dragon getting ready to make a pass. When starting the event for real, the tank grabs everything in the gauntlet and runs it up to the brazier at the end, picking up the pack there, then holding all the mobs and picking up new ones spawning in the doorway. Once you have farmed your harpoons, run back to Palehoof's room (dropping Earthbind/frost trap if you have them) once all the party is well in Palehoof's room the event will reset. Run to the end as if you were doing the fight normally, fight near the brazier until at least 2 of your DPS have 4 Harpoons each (tanks and healers will be too busy to harpoon the dragon). The door to the next area stays open luckily but you still have to run the gauntlet at least once to get to it.Ĭomment by ameeliaIf you wish to try to complete the 2 associated Achievements with this boss, it is a good idea to pre-farm the harpoons as not enough will drop during one pass to bring the dragon down. Later in the instance Skadi reset yet again which can be a hassle if you wipe to the last boss. When this happened to us we want back into the frozen creatures room and did that boss instead, and by the time we were done, the Skadi event had reset, allowing us to try again without resetting the whole instance. Note that this encounter can bug out and Skadi will lose his dragon but fail to leap up to the platform. ![]() Either way running from the whirlwind won't work if you're the one he's chasing. The attack lasts quite a while and may be targetted at a random party member, although I'm not sure of this. Most notable ability of Skadi is that he'll start doing a whirlwind style attack but can continue to move while doing so, and cannot be outrun. Once the dragon hits 0 hp Skadi will dismount and jump back up onto your platform to fight. Any player may click these to pick them up, then, when the dragon is "in range of the harpoon guns" (you will get an on-screen alert to this fact) click a gun to fire a harpoon at the dragon. As this happens the dragon will constantly go "bombing runs", spraying the area with frost which ticks for damage every second if you stand in it.Ĭertain enemies which spawn periodically will carry harpoons. Waves of enemies will fill the path and more will appear perriodically, charging down the passage towards you. When you walk up to this boss and his dragon, they will fly up into the air and start a gauntlet-style event.
